Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

By Hayley Tia

For those who are conscious about the ingredients in store-bought sauces, this is a great alternative as it has a minimal sugar content and only uses real ingredients, no GMO and is GF and Dairy-free.

homemade teriyaki sauce

3 tablespoons tamari or full-bodied soy sauce

3 tablespoons coconut aminos

3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar

1 sesame oil

2 teaspoons of crushed garlic (jarred variety works a treat here)

2 teaspoons of crushed ginger (also the jarred variety is great)

Chilli to your liking (1 teaspoon of crushed chilli for medium heat)

  1. Combine all ingredients into a bowl, missing well to combine. It's that EASY!

  2. Use this sauce as a marinade with a few fish or try a vegetarian option soaking eggplant or tofu to absorb the flavours. Ideally, you should leave to marinate for a few hours but this also works well if you only have ½ hour to marinade too.

Makes marinade for 4 portions
